BloodBorne ReviewYOU CAN BLOOD MY BORNE (wait what).

Title: Bloodborne
Realese: March 24, 2015
Director: Hidetaka Miyazaki
Platform: PS4 only I'm afraid.

I had to think long and hard (no pun intended) on what game I should do for my first review; then it hit me, the game I've been playing for the past 100+ hours: Bloodborne or as it's  known in the From Software community "a sample."
BloodBorne is the newest instalment from From Software. Personally I think they need a better name cause I can't think of a better way to put that. For those who do not know From Software; they are a company based in Japan and founded in 1986 in which they developed office software, but who cares about that? Anyway, in 1994 From Software released their first game called King's Field, a launch title for the PS1. They have released many games since then. The game that started the souls series was Demon Souls, then came the spiritual successor to Demon souls, Dark Souls. BloodBorne then came as the sort of spiritual successor to Dark Souls, as well as going back to the roots of dark souls and Demon Souls after the slightly disappointing Dark Souls 2, but how is BloodBorne? Well...

Visuals:
I want to clarify when I say visuals I don't always mean graphics, I mean how the games look compared to what the game is, it can include the graphics and whether they're bad but not always; that being said the graphics in Bloodborne are really good, it is a truly beautiful looking game, however, it is also disgusting. The enemy designs just get better and better as the game goes on. The thing that the game did a lot better than dark souls one is that there are no reskins. If you need an example, the Asylum Demon is used three times in dark souls one, that just sucks.

Gameplay:
If you're like me you came into this game thinking, "ok I've played and completed two From Software games (Dark Souls one & two) I can destroy this game, well let me tell you now. You're fucked. This game will actually kick anyone with that mind set to the ground and make you beg for mercy as the game feeds you your own shoes. You know how you improve? Do what people describe as getting "Rekt" and learn, learn how and why you failed and do it again and again. This is the true beauty of the souls/borne games, then one day you might too git gud. Since I'm going on about difficulty here I would like to point out that Bloodborne does not make the same mistake that Dark Souls 2 made, I would like to take this moment to say that I personally think Dark Souls 2 was a good game however not the best Dark Souls game by all means, the mistake in question is that it tried to copy Dark Souls 1 but it misunderstood it, Dark Souls 2 assumed that the whole point of Dark Souls is to just be a very difficult game however I think that the point of Dark Souls is to just be dark Souls, this is why I think it was a mistake to make the tag line "Prepare to die." Don't get me wrong though Bloodborne and dark souls are hard and that is a key part of them just not the only part. Anyway, back to Bloodborne. The reason people may find this more difficult is that the gameplay is so much faster from attacking to dodging and even parrying with every move you make having to be done at exactly the right time. My absolute favorite thing about Bloodborne is no bed of chaos and there is no boss fight that I hate fighting on this. None. No how many times he does the same attack. Nope.
Oh.

Oh no.
Not him.

I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't played the game but if you have played or seen this boss fight then you probably know why I hate Micolash.

Story
The story of Bloodborne is as follows. Oh wait, I seemed to have misplaced my magic hammer that I beat my head with so that I can instantly summaries a From Software story. To be honest if I did actually put the story of the game here it'd just be from the wiki so why not go there if you want the story? I will say though it is very HP Lovecraft inspired.
Finale
SPOILERS.
There are actually three endings to this game, one ending is to fight the final boss (the first hunter) then you get a cut scene and then you get a big sloppy kiss from a tentacle monster (Moon Presenceand you take the first hunters place in the hunters dream. The second ending is to eat, yes EAT three umbilical chords (yummy) and then you beat the first hunter and the tentacle monster notices you haven't washed your meal off your face and it thinks "Oh fuck I'm not kissing you" so you kill it cause judging people is wrong, and then you become it or something, just make sure you actually USE the umbilical chords, just having them in your inventory is not enough. The third ending is to die. Yup that’s it, the first hunter decapitates you so you wake up this Is also known as the "git gud scrub" ending.
Outro:
This game is honestly my game of 2015, although that doesn't mean too much considering I barely played any new games that year but it's the thought that counts. On the negative side of things though it feels so much smaller than Dark Souls 1 with less weapons, armor, items, bosses and even side quests and honestly after doing all the bosses chalice dungeons and getting all the trophies in the game (not something I usually care about) I actually feel burnt out with the game but I feel like that’s more of a me problem.
Rating: A tasty umbilical chord salad/10
(That translates to an 8/10)

Also I would like to use this to shamelessly promote my YouTube where I have past Bloodborne streams and I have my Twitch where I will be streaming as regularly as possible.
All feedback and comments very much appreciated.
